Happy Anniversary!

Wedding

June 28, 1997

Wow!  We look so young!  Erick even had a pony tail and no gray hairs (Erick says it is his clients that gave him gray hair NOT me).  It has been fun looking at all the pictures from our wedding.  It was such a wonderful day and the past 11 years have been fantastic!  Erick, I love you more each year!  You are a joy to be married to!

I found the vows that Erick and I wrote for each other:

Erick:  I Erick, take you Natasha to be my wife and with God's help I will endeavor to love you as Jesus Christ loves the Church, unconditionally and sacrificially.  By the grace of God, I promise to encourage, pray with, and instruct you according to the Word of God and to be your loving and faithful husband in plenty and in want, in joy and in sorrow, in sickness and in health, as long as we both shall live.

Natasha:  I Natasha, take you Erick to be my husband and with God's help I promise to love and submit to you as the Church is commanded to love and  submit to Christ.  I will be faithful to you and esteem you above all others in plenty and in want, in joy and in sorrow, in sickness and in health, as long as we both shall live.

11th Anniversary!

LoewsErick and I are off to get a little rest and relaxation!  Tomorrow we celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary!  Each year gets more wonderful.  I am praising God for giving me such a fabulous husband.  We are going to our favorite getaway spot in Coronado.  We are excited to get to sleep in past 6am, laying by the pool, being brought yummy food and drinks (thankfully I am no longer nauseous), and a little reading.  We are looking forward to a very relaxing time!

Crazy Love

Crazy_love_3I am reading Crazy Love:  Overwhelmed By A Relentless God by Francis Chan.  It is amazing.  I have been pushed and challenged in so many areas since I started reading it.

"If life were stable, I'd never need God's help.  Since it's not, I reach out for Him regularly.  I am thankful for the unknowns and that I don't have control, because it makes me turn to God."

To read more and see videos of Chan go to the book's web site.

The Big News!

Baby_girlIt is a GIRL!!!  We got this exciting news at my ultrasound this morning.  This is the year of the girls for the Cobbs.  Our baby will be the fourth baby girl born in the Cobb family this year.  It looks like my Christmas wish has come true!  Mason and Miles are excited.  Mason was really hoping for a little sister.  Both the boys want to name her Sally, like  "Lighting McQueen's" friend the blue Porsche.  Do you have any other suggestions for a name?

Here are some ultrasound pictures.  You can click on them to enlarge them.

In this picture Miles looks just like me when I was a kid.  In all my childhood pictures I had this same smile.

We went to the San Diego County Fair today.  It will always be the Del Mar Fair to me.  The weather was perfect.  At home it was 107 but in Del Mar it was overcast and about 70 degrees.  Just the way I like it!  Anyways, Miles absolutely loved the pony ride.  We think it had a therapeutic effect on him.  He was so happy and just bobbing around on the pony.  Both boys had a great time in "Kiddieland".  They could have spent all day on the rides there.  I had a great time sampling all the food.  The fair is a pregnant lady's paradise especially now that the nausea is gone.  Did you know that you can get fried frog legs (tastes like chicken), fried spam, fried Twinkie, fried white castle burgers, fried Oreo...  not that I tried all that stuff, just letting you know it is there!  The kids had a blast and want to go back everyday.

Madison and Macie Cobb

James (Erick's youngest brother) and Britni had their twin daughters June 12th.  Britni was just 29 weeks.  Madison and Macie are doing well.  They will be staying at the hospital for while.  They are so tiny.  Please pray that they will grow strong and healthy!  Praise God that the girls are doing well!

Mason's Last Day of Kindergarten

Last_day_of_kindergarten_003

Mason and his buddy Scott

I can't believe kindergarten is over!  They are growing up so fast.  One of the other moms and I were fighting back the tears this morning.  Mason has had a great year at school.  Everyday he is so excited to get to school.  His teacher says he is well liked by others, is a great citizen, eager to learn, and has been a delight to have in class!  He did excellent in every area!  He really loves school (just like his daddy).  When he had been sick and had to stay home he cried.  When he had vacations he even created his own school work!  I know that this excitement will not last forever, but it sure has made this year easier.  We have had such a wonderful experience with his teacher and school.  My expectations were FAR exceeded this year!  Mason, we are so thankful for you.  Congratulations on having such a great year and always doing your best with a great attitude!  We love you!!!

Kindergarten Olympics Closing Ceremony (Video)

Kindergarten Olympics 6-12-08

For the closing ceremony, the kindergartners walked around the whole school waving their flags.  All the other grades came out and cheered and clapped.  Mason was very excited!

Kindergarten Olympics

Today all of the kindergartners had their Olympic Games.  The kids had a great time and it was so fun to watch.  The events included:  basketball, hockey, long jump, balance beam, hurdles, equestrian (it was a toy horse!), swimming, cycling, and the javelin (no they did not use a real javelin, it was a pool noodle).  Mason was the captain of his team and did a fantastic job!  He was so proud of his gold metal that he told everyone in the grocery store this afternoon.  I have a short video of the closing ceremony.  I'll post it as soon as I fingure out how.

Guys Night Out

Panda_3Erick took Mason and Miles to see the new Kung Fu Panda movie.  The boys had popcorn and M&M's for dinner.  They all said the movie was very good.   The boys thought it was hysterical.  Mason said there was one scary part that made his legs shake, but he still really liked the movie.  Watch out if you are near my kids.  The boys are very excited to practice their new Kung Fu moves!

I have been wanting to get Mason in some sort of karate lessons for a while, now he is very excited to learn some new moves!  So if anyone knows a place that is good with kiddos let me know.

Cooling Off

Some day we will get a real pool.  For now the boys think the little kiddie pool is tons of fun.
