I love how her little toes are peeking out under the ruffles  :-)

So Tracy told me this trick of shooting the photos in the garage.  I gave it a try and it was great.  The lighting was so much better in there.   Next time I will hang a back drop to hide our water heater and our other random junk.  Ellie is so Fun!!  We are just absolutely CRAZY about her!!!

"It is a blood cell shooting antibodies"

Miles was home sick again today, but is looking much better this afternoon.  He was cutting out paper and I went to go see what he was making.  I asked what it was.  He said "It is a blood cell shooting antibodies".  What in the world!!!  Where does he get this stuff??  Here is his project.

Then I remembered a week ago I read him this book.  Most of the time he doesn't seem to be really listening or paying attention when I am reading to him.  I guess he proved me wrong this time!!!!  Do you remember this crazy lady?

Did you read what it said?  "White blood cells are shooting antibodies at us".  Boy he has a great memory and is scary smart sometimes!!!!

Along Came A Spider

I found these cool craft kits at Target.  They also had some other different ones like monster puppets.  Perfect for little boys :-)

Stuff Cobbs Like #33: Oma's Pumpkin Patch

I love this place.  Oma's Pumpkin Patch is run by some friends of ours in Lakeside (east part of San Diego county).  The Van Ommering families run a dairy in Lakeside and every year they have a pumpkin patch too.  The kids have so much fun.  It really is the best one I have been to.  There is a very educational hay ride around the dairy, giant tractors to climb on, a hay stack maze, a humongous mountain of cotton seeds that the kids can slide down, small petting zoo, a playground, and more! To see even more pictures go to my Flickr site!!

Life with boys...

I was hearing excessive laughter in the other room today.  It turned out the boys wanted to be Indiana Jones.  They had tied their stuffed dragon around the upstairs railing and were swinging from the sofa to the sofa cushions on the floor.  I was impressed with their creativity so I let them do it  :-)  These are bad pictures!  I was holding Ellie while taking them and she grabbing the camera strap.  And I really need to figure out what to do with that stuff behind the sofa!!  Oh those crazy Cobbs...

Ellie at 11 months

When Ellie was being examined by the pediatrician after she was born, her doctor looked into my eyes and said, "Now this is a great baby.  She is a GREAT baby."  We think she is too!  How did the doctor know??  Yeah, she probably says that about all the babies, but we really do think she is a great baby and a joy.  God knew I needed an easy one this time!  She's 11 months already!  She is almost a year for crying out loud!!!!  Here is what she has been up to recently.

1.  She pulls herself up to standing and walks while holding on to something.
2.  She loves to squeal very loudly.
3.  She is an awesome tooth grinder.  All eight of them.
4.  She laughs when her teeth are brushed.
5.  She is an early riser.  But usually content to hang in her crib for a while.
6.  She has a smile that melts old men in the grocery store.
7.  She has a magnetic personality.  Little girls love her and can't keep their hands off of her.
8.  She has mastered the pursed lip breathing technique. She scrunches her little nose and breathes in and out through her mouth with great gusto.
9.  Is a talented paper shredder. She is very eager to find a good book, especially my Bible!
10. She refuses no food.  Will eat anything.
11. She has a great ability to find that itty bitty Lego that got dropped on the floor.
12. She's incredibly sweet.  Loves to cuddle.
13. She lights up with a huge smile when she sees her daddy or brothers.

Oak Glen

It had been a couple of years since we had been to Oak Glen.  I am so glad we went.  We had so much fun and want to go back again soon!

Oak Glen 10-10-09 041

These two are the best friends.  Aren't they sweet?!!  This is at Riley Farms.  I want to go back and eat at their BBQ restaurant sometime.  There was a lot to do here.  The whole area was colonial style, very cute.  Everyone was dressed up in costumes.  There was tomahawk throwing, archery, berry picking, pumpkin picking, hay rides, bakery and live music.  Fun place.

We also stopped at Snow-Line Orchards.  Next time we definitely want to eat up some of those mini cider doughnuts.  The line was over an hour long today!!  But boy
they smelled so good!!

Oak Glen 10-10-09 104

This was at our last stop (Oak Tree Village, I think).  We had some delicious apple pie and ice cream.  As soon as we sat down to eat it the BEES came and attacked the pie and ice cream.  It was crazy!!!!  We got up and moved to another location and within 3 minutes the bees were back!! They were getting stuck in the ice cream an we had to scoop them out and fling them on the ground.  They were all over Ellie too.  Eventually the bees won and we gave up.  I didn't want the kids to get stung.  Other than the bees it was a GREAT day.  Miles had an exceptional day too!!  There were at least three times where typically he would have lost his cool in the past but he remained calm.  I almost lost it with the bees but he held it together!!  We hope to go back soon.
