The Seven A's of Confession

From Peacemakers Ministries:

As God opens your eyes to see how you have sinned
against others, he simultaneously offers you a way to find freedom from
your past wrongs. It is called confession. Many people have never
experienced this freedom because they have never learned how to confess
their wrongs honestly and unconditionally. Instead, they use words like
these: “I’m sorry if I hurt you.” “Let’s just forget the past.” “I
suppose I could have done a better job.” “I guess it’s not all your
fault.” These token statements rarely trigger genuine forgiveness and
reconciliation. If you really want to make peace, ask God to help you
breathe grace by humbly and thoroughly admitting your wrongs. One way
to do this is to use the Seven A’s.

1. Address everyone involved (All those whom you affected)

2. Avoid if, but, and maybe (Do not try to excuse your wrongs)

3. Admit specifically (Both attitudes and actions)

4. Acknowledge the hurt (Express sorrow for hurting someone)

5. Accept the consequences (Such as making restitution)

6. Alter your behavior (Change your attitudes and actions)

7. Ask for forgiveness

Our Day at the "Snow"

We had a last minute idea to go to the snow today.  The Whites were available to join us too!!  So it was after 11 by the time we were headed out.  When we exited the freeway and started to head up the mountain we came to a stop.  EVERYONE in So Cal had the same idea.  It was going to be dark by the time we actually made it to Big Bear.  We could have jogged up the mountain faster.  It was crazy!!!  We pulled over and decided to turn around.  But how were we going to get though all these cars going up and down the hill??  OH, no problem.  Josh inches his van through both directions of traffic and blocks it both ways and just stops.  He then waves us through.  Renee said yeah he will just use me as a human shield and I'll just block the oncoming traffic driving down the mountain.  Those crazy Whites!  I thought there was going to be a riot and and outcry coming from the back of our van as we turned around and left the direction of the snow, but no the boys were awesome.  Renee said that when they turned around Eli said "But mommy the snow is THAT way".  Poor kids.

So "Plan B" was to go to Castle Park.  It is like Mulligan's on steroids or a Riverside Disneyland.  I had never been there before but it looks like we will be going back a lot in the next few months.  When you buy a one day ticket you can come back as much as you want till April for FREE.  Pretty cool!  We had so much fun with the Whites.  They are a wonderful family.  We love the Whites!
