Hope you all are coming tonight to Kaleo's Christmas party!
Don't come just for these tasty bites. There will be much more food, friends, and always amazing fun with the white elephant gift exchange.
Ok, I always want to do my own thing when it comes to recipes. It said to cook some cheese tortellini, cool them, then marinate them in Italian dressing. I thought I would improvise and just chop up some mozzarella cheese sticks. Not a good plan, they like to split in half. Stick to the tortellini. The recipe said to use olives too. I am not a fan. But they are not just for me, Right??? I just don't get why anyone would eat olives so I refused to put them on :-) But they would have given them some better color variation. OK, you probably didn't want to know all my thoughts.... anyways, fun appetizer and kid approved :-) Hope to see you tonight.
I want to know what sticks you are using for the kabobs and where you got them? I get a jar of fat green olives with a bow on it from my dad every Christmas. Gross hah?
ReplyDeletePaula, Olives for Christmas! That is just as bad as getting coal. Ha!! I got the skewers at Cost Plus World Market in Temecula. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHey Tasha...this was perfect...a total lifesaver. I was going to a party today and had planned to make spinach dip and said I was going to bring something else too, but the thing I was planning on making required more time than I ended up having. I had read this last night and decided to follow your genius idea. I did it with the small balls of mozzarella, salami, pepperoni, cherry tomatoes, olives (sorry, it sounded good), and put a peperoncini at the top of each one. Worked out perfectly! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteJessica, So glad to have been a "lifesaver"!! Ha! I don't think I have ever seen small mozzarella balls. I need to find these!
